This Privacy Policy explains how My Aviation Archive (“MAA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use this website and its services.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password. You may also add a phone number in your Account Settings.

Archive content. Anything you enter into your aircraft records or your Pilot Information profile — including text, photographs, and video you upload — is collected and stored so we can provide the service. This may include personal history, financial or estate-related notes, and other information you choose to add. You control what you enter and what you later choose to share.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. We do not collect or store your full credit card number on our servers. Stripe handles your payment details directly under its own privacy policy and security standards (Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant).

Usage and technical information. We may automatically collect standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, primarily for security and troubleshooting purposes.

Information from shared presentations. If you choose to require a name and email before someone can view one of your shared presentations, that visitor’s submitted name and email are stored and made visible to you as the archive owner.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account and subscription
  • Process payments and send billing-related communications
  • Provide the archive and presentation features you use
  • Send renewal reminders and account-related notices to the email you provide
  • Respond to support requests
  • Maintain the security and proper functioning of the site

We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing Your Information

Your archive is private by default. Aircraft and pilot information you enter is not publicly visible unless you take an affirmative action to share it.

You control what you share. The Presentations feature lets you choose exactly which fields are visible in any link you generate, and to mark a presentation as no longer active at any time. Anyone with a presentation’s link can view the fields you’ve selected for that specific presentation — treat these links accordingly, and only share them with people you intend to see that information.

Service providers. We share information with third parties only as needed to operate the service, including:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Our hosting provider — storing and serving the website
  • Google — for embedded maps (based on the location you provide) and web fonts

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing purposes.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MAA, our users, or others.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies necessary for the site to function, including:

  • Keeping you logged in to your account
  • Remembering that you’ve unlocked a name/email-gated presentation, so you aren’t asked again on that same device

We do not use cookies for third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit, secure password hashing, and PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your account and archive information for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you wish to reactivate. If you would like your account and associated data deleted, please contact us through the Support page, and we will process your request, subject to any records we’re required to retain for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.

Children’s Privacy

This service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

You may review and update your account information at any time from Account Settings. You may edit or remove content from your archive, and deactivate or delete any presentation, at any time.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
